Disregarding the accuracy to The Matrix, (I don't think it's supposed to be all that accurate) it's a good way to get their point across I suppose... But I'll support this cause no matter what the ploy!

On a serrius note I agree that even though they are to be eaten and are going to die anyway thats no reason not to treat them hmm at least some what good.

Here's another look at it. If the poor animals were killed then, if you don't eat them, they died for no reason. But, then again, if you don't eat them then there will be more meat and other people will eat it. This is why conservative vegetarians go to supermarkets and tell people to not eat meat.

Vegans will do almost anything to save the animals and more power to them, but I don't think they'll be able to convince many people to become vegetarians, no.
I often eat much more meat than veggies... I don't eat any fruit.

if u really think about it vegitarians are hypocrites what makes them think animals are any better than plants or trees? they're living too. So what if they cant move. If they drink processed water they're drinking water that had all the bacteria killed in it, HOW DARE THEY! I think its all just pointless. Its one thing to kill stuff for sport and not use it or eat it, its another to kill for food and other products we need. But when someone like... spraypaints a bunch of fur coats or somethin blah blah animals rights, guess what they do to make more coats? derr... Show your disapproval if thats really the way you feel but think about what you do by ruining some animal products, the com lVy is gonna replace them.

I agree with you on the distinction between killing animals for sport and killing to eat them but I do not on your comparison between animals and plants. Plants may be living but do not have a conscience. When you kill a plant there's no pain, when you kill an animal there is, and that's the important distinction. Sure, when you shoot an animal the animal is stunned and feels very little pain but this still doesn't make it right. In this case, I'm mainly referring to hunting, I guess.

Not eating fruit is most definitely not healthy and will increase your chances of colon cancer but I continue not to eat fruit. I don't like broccoli either; only under certain conditions.
Ive seen some research that actualy sugest that plants do indeed feel pain the realy odd part is they even respond to the pain of another creature near by.... The experiment I seen was with a plant hooked up to a machine and a lobster being droped into boiling water nearby the readings were almost identical to the readings they go cutting leaves off of the plant itself.... Its like this you eat what you like dont let a human notion stop you from enjoying food. Heh you think the lion feels bad for the zebra it has just taken down and is biting out its throat ? hehehehe

well.... fruits are made to be eaten, the plants make the food so you can spread their seeds, ofcourse humans don't since they either take it out or send it to the swers

I haven't been around many hippies, especially since I lived in Texas for 6-7 out of 16 years, but I know this is a stereotype because most all the programmers my dad works with now are hippies and do not smell of pot. At one point I had my mind made up that I didn't like hippies but I changed somewhere along the line; I don't know how...

hmm meat ... ya i eat loads of meat but i do eat everything except for a few things. Its a weird thing, before I turned 18 i actually didnt like much then i started to eat all the stuff i never liked. ... mmm grass
tha's how it works, at 10 candy doesn't taste as good, at 13 cartoons are not as fun, at 15 you start to notice the girls and at 18 you start to like the disgusting food... tha's how you become a full grown 40 year old parent...

If nothing fails and all goes right, you should be frozen indefinitly until someone unfreezes you... so you may end up in the year 6xxx or so
