Check out this funny predction and that someone told me.

By 2025, march 13th, 3:15pm, Microsoft will have removed the final bug from windows 3.11 and will begin work on windows 95

Haha, that one is great. It really gives people an idea of how microsoft works. They sell some unfinished products, and sometimes make patches, to remove some bugs or flaws, and the minute the patch is released, another bug is found... They should make a product that has been tested way more than that...
bangbang023
unfinished? how are the ysupposed to find every single bug caused by every single possible combination of software and hardware and actually release anything? It's impossible. Every piece of software from every single company ships with bugs. Windows is the most used so therefore the rate of bugs being found increases greatly.

bb has a point there, its not an easy job to find every single bug for a system. Considering also they are supposed to stay afloat and make a business, thre are certain things you must neglect. I understand ppl wanna hit it against MS but u cant always attack it just coz its the bigger company.

I hope MicroSoft can fix the bug when i have 2 or more virus scaners running then my computer crashes!

If im gonna go out and buy say an OS...... I spend 299$ for the full blown version (windows XP pro)...... I get it home (im on dialup) and to fix half the problems with it I have to spend countless hours running windows updates. And just about every say 2 months i have to spend an entire night downloading the updates for my machine... Low and behold i got SP1 and not SP1a... so i have to reformat and start from scratch... heres the kicker... i spend more countless hours running updates... another evening a month downloading updates and O look.... This microsoft certified driver screwed my system... so i go through this whol eprocess again.... Folks im talking for the average user here. People get frustrated and when they do they bring it to a shop to have it fixed and spend roughly 150$ in labor on a 299$ product... so were up to 450$ just to get the software right. I myself am on DSL... have a ghost of my installed and updated OS just about every 6 months. The average person does not do that. If they are going to release something realease it so it doesnt have bugs which force people to make all these updates... I mean look at something like Photoshop.... theres a new version every say 2-3 years... No real updates for it... You buy it and you use it. The way OS's should be... Buy it use it... not update this and reinstall this. Sorry i wrote somuch but it just ticks me off

thats why you can do a system restore!

i dont care what people say. I love Microsoft.
and most people here do too, considering that the poll on the main page: most people would work for MS. But i chose IBM cause i love their products.

um that doesn't happen to me or my friend so maybe it's a user error.

Microsoft is ahead of IBM on the frontpage poll? So it is. My dad used to work for IBM and he says they had things finished that have just now been finished by other companies... ridiculous. IBM is extremely underrated.

Should we really have to. If you were using UNIX you'd NEVER have to do such a thing. Luckily I haven't found the need to do a System Restore for over 6 months now and haven't had as many problems with Windows as most people have.

Every point Lethal_OD makes I agree with. I happen to have 56k and it pisses me off when I have to download a 100mb (SP2) file for some updates. However large they are this is just ridiculous. Does MS assume everyone has Cable - T1 or what? They should focus on the minorities as well. MS is a monopoly and this country doesn't allow this (but in this case they do with very little interjection).
Lethal_OD
Geeks of the world unite... We should take a collection up to buy microsoft out and to purchase all of it's patents so we are actually Microsoft... then make Windows 99$ and every 3 months an update CD is mailed out to ever registered customer... and if they want one.. at their request we can mail them one whenever they need it... All they do is pay shipping and handling... wow 37 cents every month... not bad
snocked
Imagine if the monopoly, M$, halted all other products and just worked on the Windows OS.

I dont see how some one could get SP1 ? since your talking an average user they would most likely use the MS auto update service and therefore no confusion all the right updates get installed... and as for reformating after Sp1 for SP1A why ??? you dont need to just install the updates needed from the auto update site not the whole service pack....

hmm, arent we all totally off topice here??

OFF TOPIC : thats y mS released the FREE security update CD
