its one thing to write a song about pain but its another to intentionally sound like jackasses by putting lines in like... "Yeah, I woke up today, so sad inside my mansion
I wiped my tears away, with money I'm paid" and "Yeah, I'm choked up today, only went triple platinum". It doesn't sound sincere... at all. But I'm sure it'll be a hit cause its so "dark".

Korn music is angst PHP...a lot of it is based on complaining about the "bad" situation that the person is in at the moment

As for the Yabbaknockawowwaboomtakatawa! ... its just mocking th singer of Korn coz he used to do some trippy blabbering in the middle of his songs, stuff he would blurt out or scream that seems like nonesense (though the band claims hes actually saying something u just cant understand it well).

It seems as if these songs would depress you further or even be the true cause of your depression, although maybe subconsciously. I guess it's a reverse psychology kind of thing. I myself have had to move away many, many times (which I HATE), give away many of our precious cats over the years, etc. Having to leave our cats behind depresses me more than losing our house it seems... weird; all you can hope for when in situations such as this is that they will continue to be happy. Then again, I don't consider myself a big music person. I don't know, it continues to elude me.

None of the lyrics, for those of you who don't know, are not really korn lyrics. I will not amuse you people by ranting and raving about korn.

PHP: For some people, it won't help them, but for me, it helps me. Whether it be letting me scream along and sing lyrics which in some way define what I feel or if it's lyrics that help me understand just what it is I feel (staind lyrics do that to me) it is my own personal way of healing.

well the fact that people up so high in the business can sing about their hardships, in a way connects them to the "simple people" , to all of us listening to their music, and who now can relate to the pain that we hear in the lyrics, and because we relate it helps us deal with our own hardships in turn. U could call it reverse psychology but i would more rather think of it as a commutative psychological awakening. I use we because its happened to be before but with other bands. Music that is true and well played can seem to "flow through you" and that is why it helps you even in the toughests of tiems, even if the lyrics are negative.

Whatever helps is what I say. I'd be more inclined to accept Korn (although the band wouldn't exist in this way), if they were nonprofitable... maybe if he expressed himself through writing. Although, if it helps people, I'm all for it. Still... is anyone capable of seeing it from my pov? Maybe this newage music is intensifying depression?

korn aint newage., in the sense of the genre unless you meant of this modern day and age then that would be more like it, but its not what they are trying to do in my opinion, they are just trying to obtain proffits from low quality music. Its not just the lyrics its how they play.

There are far greater depressing movies than "happy happy joy joy" ones and this is why. I don't like happy movies near as much. I don't watch movies anymore because both types depress me.

if you will read the complete thread starr you will see that those are lyrics that snocked made up based on the latest single and the way Korn is singing lately. As for ur opinion mustang, I totally agree, it seems that after a great period of music (70's and 80's) music must have its decline and it just happens to be now 90's to 2000's //
