Here's the difference between a sports fanatic and a geek summed up in a funny found in the newspaper and scanned in.

First frame text is: Well, it's been a thrill listening to you talk about operating system source code, Jason, but I've reached my limit.

I see myself as a geek, but that doesn't me make less of a sports fan. I don't really like soccer, like most of the kids of my age, but there are some sports that I really like. Besides, I really really love swimsuit models

I knew people would say they were mutually exclusive. I tend to disagree but there are extremely intelligent people that like sports.

Well I like pool and badminton but don't play them very often (very rarely). Personally, I'd MUCH rather be on my computer.

I love computers and I love sports. I follow hockey and basketball...more hockey. But I still watch soccer sometimes...and even a tiny bit of baseball.
I play whenever I can...Which seems to be less and less as my friends become busy with stuff there just isn't time to play sports anymore.

It seems that it would be difficult to get out and play baseball most of the year in Canada.

All this talk about stereotyping and fitting people into genres just disgusts me. Not htis thread in particular, but the fact that it comes up so often here or that some of you seem to be unable to exist unless you can place people into their own category.

No stereotypes intended, bb; I just thought it was a funny cartoon.

Nah...If that were true our Canadian baseball team wouldn't be like ranked 4th or something in the world. Hm...Well of course if you think about it though...the teams ahead of Canada are like baseball fanatics...
US
Cuba
Japan
I guess it would only make sense Canada is next in line...Unless there is some country in Europe I don't know of...

I know it wasn't PHP's intention. I never claimed it was and hope no one thought I meant it that way. I was just venting how stereotyping like this is what causes problems.

I don't agree with stereotyping either seeing as this is the base of racism and every other -ism.

venting is good, i guess hehee
so okay, to avoid doign what bb and all of us dislike, and also to not get off topic, please just talk about the comic on the front page or we can just close this topic for now, since we have all seen it.
