Should be alot better from what I have read it was only the first generation of iPods that had the realy bad batteries hmm although any rechargeble battery will eventualy need to be replaced. I think apple has also changed its policy on replacement batteries to make them cheaper or what not. Heheheh they should have expected this when people realy love something they want to keep it a loooong time smile.gif

I can't find myself ever buying an iPod, form fits function and I'd never need that large of a hd for my music, all I'd need is a 1gb drive at the most. Curious - apple never recalled any of the batteries, did they?

I wont write the full review but lets just say i have it the package it comes in is beautiful and the ipod just sounds truely amazing. Well 1Gb only php sad.gif hehe i already have it full 3000 mp3's but the great thing about it is also that you can use it as a external hd if you friend needs some document that may be 10Gb you can just throw it on the ipod and plug it into your friends computer. I'm loving it right now you can expect a full review by the weekend.

Well if I had enough money I'd buy it for 1) the box it comes in, 2) to stare at it, and 3) experiment around with the iPod itself. smile.gif

I can't wait to see the review. If you could PLEASE take a picture of the box and add it to the review to that would make it 10x better. tongue.gif I've never seen the box before.

Here's an excellent iPod resource I just found via Pixelgirl... http://www.ipodlounge.com/ Check that out, actz. thumbsupsmiley.gif I'm going to keep it as one of my tabs in Opera for awhile.

yeah i really would like to take the pictures with a digital cam so i can show youall the box and the warning sticker on the ipod when u get it out "Don't Steal Music" unsure.gif but that will have to wait till end of next month when i get to vancouver

this thing just makes the ipod mini a rip off.
actz
yeah well the mini does seem a rip off they really need to lower it another 50$ at least from the pictures it does look cheaper then the ipod and for the extra 50 you get 3x more capacity i dont see how people can justify getting the mini right now but they will be hitting stores this friday... well thats what i got out of the sales rep, I also questioned him about the ipod bettery life and he said of course as he has probably been told to say that all bat die off after a few years then i brought up that 18months isnt 3 years. He said he's had his for 3 years and still has no problem but he did agree that $99 is too expensive for another bat we had a bit of laugh but of course i was going to buy it anyways.

What store did you buy it from, actz? CompUSA?
actz

Welcome. Oh wow, Apple Store, I've never been into one but it turns out they had one in Dallas (I think that's where it was). If only I'd know. I'm looking at the downloads section... it's making me wish I had an iPod more and more.

3 years ? so iPod was out in early 2001 ? hmmm somehow I doubt that as the first generation just a couple of months ago hit the 18 month mark..... Maybe he ment 2 years LOL (but yeah sales will always tell you what ever it is you want to hear) I think the current batch of iPods is more then likely very good though smile.gif

Yeah i was thinking that too but i couldnt be bothered going into it with him hehe it was pointless anyways.
