Hey I wonder what kinda anti-piracy measueres Longhorn will have? After all, WinXP had the new activation system. Maybe Longhorn will require you to activate by calling an MS representative to your place wink.gif

yeah they have time to perfect it but i'm sure someone will have a work around whatever they do... right now with my legit copy of Windows XP Home i have to call every time i reinstall the OS to get a new key its a real pain since i install the OS so often and they always ask is it on the same computer blah blah blah

i kno, activating Win XP is such a pain, longhorn will definitely have a NXT Gen Anti-Piracy device & undoubtedly, crackers will have have a NXT Gen Anti-Anti-Piracydevice biggrin.gif .

I wonder if it will be released before Palladium certified hardware gets released cos I think that will be the end of the party when that stuff hits the market.

I wonder if microsoft will learn from their last mistake and not release an unactivated version like they did with the corporate edition of XP. (the one that nearly every dodgy copy owned is used)

Actualy all versions of XP got cracked its just that the corperate volume liscence does not require activation over the phone or by net... the reason for that is the IT department would have a nightmare activating like 100-10,000 machines depending on the size of the company.... So there will be corperate versions of Longhorn also. Although I wouldnt be surprised with Paladium being in it also I think the corperate version might have some sort of special registered upgrade web page. Hmmm all in all I think Paladium would be about the only new thing piracy wise.
