Feb 11 2004, 03:14 AM
I'm still in uni right now and I would like to beg the differ, actz.
Actually I believe what you say...Cuz back in highschool people told me I would miss it once I finished and left it...It's true...I do miss it, I no longer get to see a lot of people that I took for granted being around me. Besides the last grade of highschool none of the other grades really mattered and that's why it was relatively stress free.
But right now...I can't wait to get my ass out of uni.

Yea, I'll probably end up missing uni...But it's hard to imagine right now...I had a midterm yesterday...I'm about to have one in 30 minutes and I have three on the same day on Friday. It's hard to imagine missing anything like this at the moment.

well im back from the first day. Wasnt so bad, other than I had my butt down on a chair working 4 hours straight. But it was okay, the teacher was rather nice and I made a pretty cool friend that I got to talk to. Tomorrow is Intro. to Engineering (aka Physics)... Lets hope it works just as well

I'm enjoying this quarter of my classes; Only 1 period (about 50 minutes) of English, and 3 periods of Computer classes (2 of A+, 1 of Net+)

My physics teacher is miserable... she makes it boring although I'm sure it's anything but.

I'm just sick of being stuck in classes with clueless people. I don't claim to be a genius or anything but when people can't average 2 numbers then I start to wonder why I come to school at all. For all of you who are wondering why I don't get moved up to a more advance class it's because we A. don't have a guidance counselor and B. because I go to a technical school and they focus more on your shop area rather than your academics.

that sux JP..
well today was another math lesson. Contrary to the previous lesson this one blew my mind off lol. There's stuff in there that I realize i never took in high school which makes me hate the math level of american schools
fluky_daft
Feb 13 2004, 05:45 PM
I definately agree w/ ya on that one JP!!! I'm definately seeing the supidness radiating from this building!!!
.::PHPfanatic::.
Feb 13 2004, 07:41 PM
Are you talking about averaging x numbers in your head or just grasping the concept, JP? If it's the latter they're indeed stupid (maybe... or extreme sleep deprivation) but if it's the former I don't see it this way.
My problem is that when people are asking questions I think they're stupid (the questions that is) and don't need to be asked (specifically in math) but then when it comes to tests I'm an idiot.

Feb 13 2004, 08:19 PM
i have no clue why i get all the complicated problems but the simple ones i miss

It's the same case with me, Deftone... it's weird.

Feb 14 2004, 05:17 AM

Feb 14 2004, 05:27 AM
I think its all about the teachers and you really have to enjoy who ever is trying to get your attention. I've had some really great teachers in the past that get me interested in a course that i usualy could care less about. It doesnt happen that often that i like my teachers so its great when you do find some that are worth pleasing and actualy showing up for.
fluky_daft
Feb 14 2004, 06:02 AM
I agree with actz on this. JP and I were discussing how incredibly stupid our teachers are and there is only one that you can honestly have an intelligent conversation with its rather disappointing but thats what you get w/ this wonderful PA education!

Most of the teachers I have here in collage are ones that you can have some really interesting discussions with
Kenut
Feb 16 2004, 10:00 PM
I never talked to my professors...Unless it was about my attendance or my marks.

Back in highschool...I've only talked to teachers if I had them for two years straight in a subject or more. Otherwise...to the teachers I just kinda blend in the background.
.::PHPfanatic::.
Feb 16 2004, 10:05 PM
Exactly the case with me, Kenut, with my teachers that is. I've talked to my geeky math teacher a few times about some calculator programs but that's it, he spases out sometimes or does something weird and doesn't even know it haha.

I'm talking about two numbers, both of which were only 2 digits and also were whole numbers. I really don't see how it can be mind shatter to add these together and then divide by two. What is this generation coming to?

hehe i've had the feeling in some classes that just drive you out of your mind and make you want to jump out the window but i've always managed to get out somehow and not go back hehehe got in trouble for that in high school a couple of times University way easier to just walk out.

Yeah in most of my classes I can't stop yawning, I usually try to hide it but sometimes it's difficult.

Feb 21 2004, 06:41 AM
yeah u cant help it! My math teacher loses me though. She makes the simplest processes seem hard...i know coz we were going over material I had covered before..and she made it so confusing for the class..sigh
