Well I didnt expect that much seeing as ashton kutcher was the lead actor in this movie, but after seeing it I really like this movie. He actually did quite a good job in the movie and the storyline was also really good. I would recommend people see this one.

Yea I saw it. I thought it was pretty good too. I really liked the ending and Kutcher was pretty good in it.

Is this related to the idea that a butterfly can flap his/her wings on the other side of the world and it can cause catastrophic effects elsewhere (The Butterfly Effect)?

Yup, it sure does play with that idea. How one small event can have huge consequences.
I'll let you know what i think when i see it probably tomorrow but as far as ashton kutcher having lead roll i really think this is giving him a chance to get away from the stupid comedy thing.

i think he's a great actor he's funny. its weird to see ashton play a serious role:P
a few of my friends went to see it and said it was good, so i'll probably go watch it. i love movies that deal with huge "what if's".
Don't let Ashton Kutcher be the reason you don't go see this movie. Really, he does a great job. Give this movie a chance, it's worth it.

I keep hearing this name but I don't even know who this guy is. I think I may have seen him on a cover for a movie at Video to Go a few days ago, I don't know.

Ashton is a terrible actor imo but thats just looking at the stuff he's done to date i've seen all his movies and they are Bad< yes with a capital B ... I'll give Butterfly Effect a chance of course and I really think this could change my opinion on him over all.
To be fair he has never been presented with any good roles.

Yea I really think this role from this movie will change most people's opinion about Ashton Kutcher. But don't go expecting an Academy award performance...
EDIT: Just to add...Ashton was also an exective producer to this movie.

i just saw the trailer. Well...ill give the movie a shot but from what ive seen so far of the clips from the movie i can say two things. THe expressions he makes in some parts of the movie are just the same he does in that 70's show...which kinda takes the seriousness away for me. The other thing is the theme of the movie. That he can just u know flip back with his mind and go back in time. That seems kinda ridiculous and not serious at all. Also think that tihs same theme already came out in the movie "The Time Machine" which ended up being rather lame I must say.

Time Machine was bad.
but Buttfly Effect was really good.
I loved it. I can wait to buy it on DVD
the trailers and clips didnt convince me much..but like i said ill try and go see it.

Well said, but from the likes of this movie (all I've seen from the promos/trailers), I don't want to be anywhere near it.
Movies like this are as of the same quality as Euro-Trip (Typing the name alone wants to make me throw up), Old School, and Freddy Got Fingered (One of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life and the first and only movie I had to walk out of.
If you've seen those, then I rest my case.
I've seen a preview for "That 70's Show" so I know who he is, thanks to Kenut's picture of him.

Now, that's not fair. Euro-Trip and movies like Freddy Got Fingered are in no way on the same level as Butterfly Effect. It kinda sucks for Ashton to be put in the same level as those movies just because of his past. Everyone here who has seen the movie has said that this is in no way similar to his usual acting...
Actors do mature just like artists. I'm not saying this movie is the best you'll ever see...But I do believe if Ashton is trying to mature then this is a very good start.
