what would you guys(as mods and forum admin) think of a max size limit 0f 350 pixels high for forum signature pics??? my current one is 250, and i cant really make out details in it very well...350 isnt too bad, even 300 would be good...

as for ppl with picture bars(like Inkman for instance) why not have a max width of something like 500...i know with inkman's bar it screws with my window, everything gets shoved off the edge and i cant reply to any PM's he sends me, nor can i use anything but the quick reply box at the bottom...

Max Sig height: 250px (sorry but its the way it is)
Max Sig width: 500px

Guys, not everyone runs at higher resolutions and signatures are only but a small part of these forums. As far as I am concerned, and this is in no ways showing any animosity towards LordKwik, but this is the last time I am discussing this. If someone with a resolution at 800*600 visits the site, we want them to be able to read it easily. Presentation is everything.

Yeah I run at 800X600 its not that my computer wont do more its just thats what I like LOL

Sounds like a good size to me. I'll have my height fixed in a few here (I'm at 300 )

thanx bangbang... i will msg actz with my proposition also, as my height on my sig is 250 and you see how small it is...i think on 800x600 resolution you could get away with 300 pixels in height( i will do some checking to see what max *could* be wor width)...if you want i can post a test and see how it goes and what you guys think...i understand that my original sig pic was too big(500x380 pixels or something like that) and my current one seems a bit small for 250 pixels...but if you guys dont mind i would like to run a few tests that make it friendly for 800x600 users like myself(i cant go any higher cause its my moms computer and she has bad eye sight, otherwise i would be at 1024x768 and wouldnt worry bout it)

My resolution is at 1152x864 as this seems to suit these forums and I'm sure it would any others as well. I think the 250x500 size threshold would work for most people but the height may be a little small for some pictures.

you guys have to realize thre are very few forums out that that allow even a 250 height. Signatures are nice but useless at the same time. Seriously, I don't think actz is going to disagree with me on this.

I agree with BB, sigs are nice but useless... hence, why I dumped the images...

250 should most definately be max...

I agree with bb and 250px is big enough for most people. The signature is typically longer in width then height and is displayed as a sort of banner. I know everyone has their own way of doing it but sig's cant go bigger then 250px this dimension is a lot bigger then most of the larger forums. Forums like IBPlanet have dimensions of 300x100 so all the sigs look more or less like banners. It’s nicer that way but we will stick to what bangbang suggested above.
