I have a really ancient laptop (1996 Toshiba Satellite Pro Windows 95) and I can't figure how to transfer files from it to my other computers.
It has an external floppy drive with thee FDD floppy case. But it stopped working. I don't know how to fix hardware. I need my floppy drive.
The CD drive occasionally works...but the laptop doesn't have a CD writer.
So I was wondering. There are a bunch of USB to Serial adapters, but can you get one the other way around, so I can use my USB flash drive on my laptop?
I think you should be able to dump your HD onto a flashdrive, then toss the laptop, either that or fix the darned thing lol

Using a flash drive should show up as a new one in your 'My Computer', may have to restart a time or two, not remembering here but once it is accepted you should be able to export files to it then transfer them to the other PC. I think though that if they are FAT files and your other systems are XP or newer then you need a dual boot system in order to read them as the newer OS's files are formatted differently (NTF? ManI am forgetting). In such a case if you just want to copy the info you have but can't at the time enter it into your other machines then buy a 10$ beater with a floppy and make up a set, deal with it later. this is by no means concise and is off the hip from me, a rusting hulk

, but seeing as how dead it is around here maybe if I post some wrong junk someone will eventually crawl outta the wood-work and give ya a decent answer,

Cheers to the new year arriving and the best to One and All!!
Regards,
