I have a Canon pixma ip6000d with memory card reader in the front. I also have a canon powershot sd1000 which uses a scan disk memory card. I ran into a problem trying to have the printer read the photos I took off the memory card using the reader. Now the camera says I have picture on the card but when I insert the memory card into the reader its says no photos are on the card. Does anyone know what may be wrong? I do have the driver installed on my computer. Is there any fix for this?

"scan disk memory card"? I'm assuming SD card for the following suggestions.

Are you quite positive the photos are on the SD card and not stored on the camera's internal memory? There is a setting on the camera that determines which to use for taking pictures.

Can you open the SD card on your computer as though it were an additional drive? If so, have you checked the contents for JPGs or other image files (or ANY files at all for that matter)?

Try borrowing a friend's camera and using your SD card in it. If your pictures are on the card then you have a problem with the docking equipment (printer, reader, etc). Make sure all the equipment is on and completely plugged in, both to a power source (wall or battery) AND the computer (usually USB). Check that all drivers have been updated from the manufacturer's website and that any programs that came with the hardware are properly installed and running.

If they are missing from the card you have either a camera or a card problem. Go into the camera's menu options and select the storage device, or storage method. Something of that nature. Make sure you are using the card as your primary storage, not internal memory. Failing in that, try using a friend's card instead, or attempt to write something to the card with an SD drive.

SD stands for Secure Digital.
