I have been using BlueSoleil bluetooth software and drivers with my bluetooth adapter. I was having problems with a single bluetooth device. I uninstalled BlueSoleil changed the adapter and installed widcomm bluetooth software that accompanied the new adapter. I was aware of the issues using this with XP service pack 2 and even after performing the workaround I found the new adapter and software to be less functional than my original. So I reverted the workaround and uninstalled the Widcomm Bluetooth software. I'm now using the original BlueSolei software and adapter again.
The problem I now have is that there is a "My Bluetooth Places" system folder link in the "mycomputer" folder under the "other" section, next to the "control panel" system folder link. This link is missing an icon and dose nothing but attempt to create a short cut when I click on it. How do I remove this link from this position.

I had come across that post but considered it not relevant to my problem. But I have searched the registry and disabled :-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{6af09eca-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}]
@="My Bluetooth Places"

This has removed the icon from my computer. Thanks.

But.......

I have also noticed I have a "bluetooth devices" icon in the control and a "send to bluetooth device" option under the right mouse button. Nether of these functions work, and i'm sure they were not there before.

I'm assuming that during the installation of the widcomm bluetooth software, the windows bluetooth software got installed, and on removing all bluetooth from my PC the windows components were not fully removed.
How can I cleanly and fully remove the windows bluetooth software and related registry entries, leaving my BlueSoleil bluetooth software fully intact and working?
