I've been thinking about actually learning about these evil databases, but I just can't really seem to find time for it. But if I were to find a good elaborate tutorial on MySQL, how they work, and how queries work, I'd get started ASAP.
So my question is: do any of you know of good tutorials/ebooks on MySQL?

PS: It doesn't have to get into how you implement said queries in some language, I can figure that out with documentation from those languages, I'm actually just interested in how the database itself works wink.gif

psychotic ... the MySQL Manual itself is pretty Helpful. Otherwise databasejournal.com as some really good tutorials. Haven't come across any good books to date that are good with the basics.

Ahh, you mean more the internals ?? ... Well, its open source smile.gif ... so read the archived developer mailing lists and im sure you could learn loads.

Yeah, well, I'm not really interested in the internals as much as I want to know how queries work and how to keep data in such a way that it can be efficiently queried later. Anyway, I'll take a look at the MySQL site itself and see if I can find the manual smile.gif
