Hello there, my fellow geeknewz visitors.
As you may or may not know, I forgot all about windows and installed linux a couple of months ago, and I got used to do quite a lot of things. One of those things is compiling programs (but that is only because most developers make it quite easy).
I found out today that the mozilla team is already working on a version 3 of mozilla/firefox. So I decided I'd compile the CVS version of firefox, nicknamed "Minefield", probably because it's full of bugs biggrin.gif.
So I thought I'd provide you people with a screenshot: Minefield v3.0a1.

Mind you, this is still in alpha stage, which means it's being developed as we speak, and may be full of exotic bugs wink.gif I can't provide you with a windows copy, nor do I think it'd be wise to use my build.
Enjoy the screenie anyway smile.gif

PS: if you really want to build Minefield, go to mozilla.org and see if you can find the instructions to do so wink.gif

... any notable new features?

New features I've noticed: in the quick search input box, when you start typing, it'll give you a list of suggestions, which is pretty neat. Also, firefox has decided to do something like internet explorer and add some anti-phishing stuff. It doesn't seem to be working yet though. Another thing, I read that the rendering engine has been rewritten, but I'm not too sure.
That's really all I noticed thus far smile.gif

Edit: lol, no it's not all I noticed laugh.gif Firefox now has some spellchecking stuff now, so when I'm typing something in this input box right now, some words are underlined, and I can right-click them to see what's wrong! smile.gif

I'll download it once it comes out...to point out all of it's flaws.
