sad.gif OK, about three days ago, some software was installed on our computer and nobody knew about it. Turns out there was a 3 day trial on it and that expired and now we have to pay for it if we don't get it off our computer. I've so far tried System Restore, Remove Program, and plain deletion. None of it has worked, and i still can't find it on the Local Disk C:/. Can someone please help me find and get rid of this nuisance of a program? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
actz
Please let us know what the name of the program is... I wouldnt panic too much about paying as usualy trial programs just become non functional until you do pay for them.
cyberghost
just reformat the hard drive and reinstall all of your software and your windows O/S witch ever verison you may have.

have fun...

or take your computer outside and run it over with your car or better yet an payloader if you have one handy lmao

That doesn't make any sense, cyberghost. You're not really helping, actually, you're probably scaring him/her.
Anyway, it's practically impossible to have a file that won't be deleted. Sometimes I wish I were still using Windows, because now I'm pretty much inable to help you or others (since I usually have to find it out for myself first tongue.gif). Anyway, don't panic just yet, don't format your drives (unless you have nothing important on your drive), and find more information about that particular program. I'm sure you're not the only one on the internet with that problem wink.gif

thanks for the support psYchotic, does anyone know about moviepass software and how to delete it? any info on how would be helpful

Don't know about moviepass, but you should be able to go into your MyComputer, Control panel, Add/Remove programs, and delete it from there. You could also go into your program files or Start>Programs, and find its folder, either right click then hit the delete option or try and drag and drop it into your recycle bin. Give it a go, and btw WELCOME to the site. I
If it is a stubborn one that is persistant you can try doing those steps in 'Safe' mode in case it has something in it running in the background. general rule of thumb, avoid trial offers unless they come with their own 'uninstall' option, and, 'free' often has its drawbacks.
Good luck and keep us posted on the steps you have taken.

If you go to the thread regarding 'MightyMax' removal there should be some other ideas there to consider as well.

I just re-read your post, seems you have tried the easy stuff. Try finding one of its files, right click, go to 'Properties' and click. This should give you information on the file extensions it is using. Write them down, go to Start>Search, enter that info, bring up the files and folders, right click> delete. smile.gif

Wow! Thanks actz, quite the read but does lead to the final solution (s), kudos.
What a bunch of evil bastarts, simply amazing they have gotten away with these tactics for several years. In my honest opinion if any company deserved a good hacking it is these unscrupulous clowns, oh, and an IRS audit complete with rock-pile and bread and water dinners, seizure of all assets, business and personal, for all management.........Arrrrgggg, I can think of more I'm sure, sheesh!
