I just got back from seeing the movie, and I'm going to kick all the people that said the last 20 minutes suck.....
This thread is for the people who have seen the movie and can discuss it freely. Mind you that if you have not seen the movie, there are good chances that you'll read spoilers left and right

Anyway, about the last 20 minutes... I talked to a few people and now understand that the reason the last 20 minutes were bad is because it didn't relate to the book. I say: "Oh well, it was damn good anyway"

. I was glad to see that the ending actually "ended" the movie. You know what happens to everyone (eg: Sam was happy... and busy..... Frodo lived... and a bunch of other things...), and are not left hanging at the end with questions (this is one movie that left me with hardly any questions).
There are some things I saw that were odd.... Like how the hell can Legolas do that?!?! (In the battle scene where he climbed up on that.... thing... and killed everyone on it, then killed the... thing... and slid back down without a scratch).
Anyway... what do you all think?

Yea, I tried to help Inkman understand that the last 20 mins was Timeline based from the BACK of the book lmao where Frodo lives and lives on in ME another 20 some years before he and Bilbo, and the three keepers, Elrond, Gandalf, and Galadriel leave ME for Valinor (home of the Valar Gods) never to return lol it was a great ending, and yes, it was the END of lotr, there will never be a continue to the story, cause the entire ME timeline ends sometime very shortly after Aragorn dies and Arwen leaves Gondor to live in Lorien for her days. yadda yadda lol and badda bing. Time for the Hobbit lol make that, and we got the ENTIRE story from prelude book to end

Well actually Morgoth could have an uprising if they wanted to go against the histories (Morgoth is middle earths version of satan (valar) The teacher of sauron, makes sauron look like a grain of sand), bt the creation song doesn't include another age after the 3rd.
PS; and what is that warning 0% by my name?

If they hadn't, there would have been no complete closure ot the story. I think the fact that it was so different from the rest of the story that threw people off.

I didn't notice much any of a difference. It all tied it from what I saw.

The difference I mean that the lighting was much different. It was bright and everything seemed to have a glow to it. The rest of the movie was always dark and full of shadows.

funny seeing this. I wrote this the other day:
Watching LOTR i came to realize that Frodo´s gayness is not only omnipresent but it emanates from him and infects others, to the point even Sam lets him kiss his forehead! BUt either way, Sam behaved coz he showed his awesome ninja skills when he kited that spider lady, or when he killed the orcs, thats coz Samwise Gamgy´s a pimp. Of course legolas stood around, looked pretty and then had a scene where he miraculously killed 40 ppl and somehow survived. But overall the movie was fullfilling. Cept i think i left my ass engraved in the seat, next time ill be able to find it by just looking at the dent from sitting so long. Anyway that is about it realy

what my friend had to comment on that was: Hobbits are Naturally Fruity
LOL

That is not an act of gayness or anything like it. It's a type of "Farewell". Kindof like shaking a hand or a hug.

I know..but given their personalities and stares....it does look remarkably gay..

It's basically the traditions of that culture. You look at some other cultures today and people will do that. In Mexico (from what I know) people kiss each other on the cheek as a greeting, even if they are of the same sex.

yes, the fact that you think two men are gay as soon as they start getting friendly might be a sign of some insecurities...

Dec 27 2003, 05:33 PM
lol man. Im latino. we greet with the ¨cheek kiss¨ . Although its more like a kiss to the air type thing. I know its customs
Just that when u have Elyja Wood (however its spelt hehe) in the picture. It just becomes iffy to me hahaa

I was a little disappointed in the Orcs. It my opinion, the Orcs from LOTR movies should have looked more like the Orcs from "
Orc Magazine" ... they should have been green and buff - not sickly and scrawny!
