my hometown of houston just diverted an airline disaster. today at approximately 4:00 p.m an airline took off from houston and "blew a wheel". they circurled the airport for over 2 hours. with all of us praying for the passengers and familiies. the crew landed them safely. i thank god for the safe return of the crew and passengers of this airline.

I've been in two turbulences, but not much else.
I knew some people who were hurt in airfare.

'Diverted'?? Where did they divert it to? lol, averted maybe (or avoided).
Had one scary incident when I was in my teens flying over central Canada, a several second wind-shear drop of over 5000ft., we were eating dinner and it was interesting to see my plate hover at eye level for a sec or two before it crashed into my lap. Some pretty pale faces afterwards and free drinks. Still don't like flying anywhere to date.

Serges that kind of reminds me of a trip to Florida... bad turbulance and when we where about to land we had to go to a different runway becouse they spilled fuel or something... the runway we landed on wasnt meant for 747's so if you have ever had to slam on your breaks in a car... well a 747 doesnt handle so well lol

Handles like a Ferrari,

When I was about 9, my family and myself were flying into BC from Hawaii, upon landing, half of the airbags (dangling things) poped down, now just bieng woken up by a bunch of shaking and hitting noises (normal landing) and seeing O2 masks, I almost freaked. Hard to believe I still remember that, huh.

I don't think it's that hard to remember. Things like that are particularly memorable ^^ especially at that age, when your ideas of how the world works are still being formed. (well, they're always being formed, but you know what i mean). But yeah... the idea of the 5000 foot drop, plates in midair = scary.

Personally I haven't had any experiences like that. I guess I'm just lucky ^^

the worst I've ever experienced was probably when I was five and flying over the ocean. The lights went out for some reason. Being five, I couldn't help but think we were going to plunge into the ocean and die miles away from civilization tongue.gif.
