I saw the midnight showing this morning at the Loews cinaplex by MSG in the city and it was amazing. I was not a fan of the first two, but this one was purely amazing.

yay.... I'm so excited about seeing it... all tickets are still sold out over here, I'm definately going to see it by Saturday

I saw the midnight 12-16 showing also. Incredible. Except th3 last 20 min. or so that was completly made up. Extended version....

I have yet to see it. I dunno when I'll get to it though

well hrad got to go see it (envy!) and i didn't get to talk to him today, but his friend said that it was most amazing. Can't wait to see it!

give it till the end of the month and the dvd screener will be out The last two have always had a dvd screener show up online within like 2 weeks of their release. I cant wait. Ofcource I must go and buy the Boxed set (all 3) DVD extended versions, when they become available. Hopefully this summer.

Screeners were cracked down on and it extremely hard to get ahold of now.

I want the boxed version also...a complete set of the books would also be nice...so when are you guys all going christmas shopping for me? lol.

I have the fellowship and TTT extended special edition dvd sets, just need rotk lol but the one they show in the theaters this round IS the extended one so lol and the last 20 mins regard the timeline after the war of the ring and such, nothing was made up ink, it was just added from the appendixes of The Lord of the Rings.. like if you bought the big trilogy book (all three in one), it has like 150 pages of sh*t in the back including story line well after the end of the war and destruction of sauron lol

I'm going to wait until they bring out a special DVD set that has all 3 of the movies plus all the special stuff

I can't believe the didn't put in the scouring of the shire!!!!
And also when Frodo and Sam are going up the steps and golum tricks Frodo into telling same to go home and sam just sitts there and weeps, this doesn't hapen at all anywhere in the trilogy, sam is with frodo untill Sam assumes frodo is dead.
Another thing in the two towers Peter Jackson portrays faramir as if he were Boromir, FARAMIR WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RING in the books, and another thing, Frodo and Same never get taken to osgiliath by faramir... after a day or so he sends them on their way.
other than the scrouring of the shire and Frodo sending sam on he way home (WTF???) it was pretty good
The scouring of the shire replacement was totally gay (dissappointment rings through the air) everything wasn't ok the shire was practically destroyed

Alittle tired hrad?

Hrad if you get the TTT extended and watch the last two dvd's you discover WHY things like that were changed. If they did Faramir was written, they would have ended up a character with little or no point besides transport of Frodo, Sam, and Smaegol. He would be as important as an extra. They wanted to give him a reason to be IN the movie so they didn't make him act like his brother, they just made him (in extended sequences) flash back to when bor was being sent to Rivendell by their father. Far never measured up to his brother to their father so Far they made want to do something (small mind you) to maybe earn the respect of his father once again. But in the end he lets them go and in extended scenes he shows them the path out of the city. They mearly made him a watchable and enjoyable character to act out. Cause even the guy that played him had read TTT and mentioned that, but he did realize he would have only like ONE part in the movie for like 12 seconds tops lol It didn't change the story any, and we got to see a more emotional Faramir, even though it was a bit different then Tolkien.
The only reason they have changed anything is because ONE, if they played it straight from the books, all three movies would round about 17 hours of footage LOL and TWO, if they played it straight from Tolkien, people would get very tired watching the movies. Example: Council of Elrond. They cut that ENTIRE chapter down because if they would have done it the way Tolkien would have wanted, it would have been a VERY long group of scenes and very BORING because it is infact one of the longest chapters and absolutely NOTHING happens besides a bunch of council members blabbing and we discover exactly what the ring truly is.
They just couldn't do that, so there were numbers of things cut down. If you would like, ask ME why they did it and I will answer. I know why they did each thing as they did. lol And no, it wasnt to piss people off.

they wouldn't have to make it any longer than it was to make a lot of things more accurite and not made up by petter jackson, Faramir could have been protrayed just as well, and lets not forget his part in the battle of the pelenor feilds and they could still show the scene with him and faramir (which was pretty acurite), IT WOULD HAVE ONLY MABEE LESSENED FARAMIRS PART BY A MINNUTE OR TWO.

Something thing that angers me is that harry potter charectors can be portrayed just as they are written but a couple LOTR charectors must be warped due to petter jacksons gayness spells. Or perhaps since not everyone has read it he assumed that few would realise he is portraying an opposite aspect of a charector. Don't get me wrong though, jackson did a superb job with scenery and some charector portrayal, I just don't like it when the classics are altered unessessarilly.
It would have been beneficiary for christopher Tolkien to over see all of the production.

The only thing you mixed up there hrad was, each movie had to be overseen by Christopher Tolkien himself before PJ was allowed to slap the FINAL EDIT sticker on the film lol He agreed to each one (almost didn't to Fellowship cause they decided they wanted Arwen to have more use in the movie and replaced Glorfindel with her LMAO).. He is overseeing the making of The Hobbit, which is happening in complete secret (yea, so much for that idea lol) in NZ also. Chris said though alot was changed, he enjoyed it. And he understood that they just could not exact his fathers books into movies without changes due to the fact that most of each movie would be incredibly boring placed on the screen, and alot of things changed were done so to progress the action, which UNFORTUNATLY is the make up of 88% of the Movie Goer's population. There was alot to think about, and alot they just could not do or make. Oh well, it's over now, adios, movies done. One more, and the Full trilogy will be complete, then we can all shut our mouths cause ain't no one ever gonna be allowed to remake them lol at least thats what the Tolkien Family said. They allowed PJ, and those are it. Like em, hate em, live with em lol

And yea, one of the dvd (only theatrical mind you) would be around 7 disks and 4 would be the move WITH his commentary and add ins (so we'd never actually get to WATCH, he'd be too damn busy interupting lol), the fifth would be the movie alone (LMAO), and the last two would be the extras lol.. it would be utterly messy and redundant lol
