Hello everyone,

so im having this pb:

i installed win2k3 enterprise server OS about 3 motnhs ago, everything working smoothly & faultless, better than XP by far

of recent however when i opened start menu>all programs big surprise!!!
many shortcut icons that had been and should have been there still were missing, while many others were not.

(eg: Accessories, Administrative Tools submenus, Azureus, Getright etc. were present, but Adobe, yahoo etc were not)

considering this is the 2nd time it happens - 1st time 4months ago, which was the cause for a fresh windows 2003 reinstall ((( - i am on the edge of throwing my pc out the window

any workaround / ideas 'll be apperciated

The only thing I can think of that will do that is "Personalized Menus"... if that's on then your icons will be "hidden" if you don't use them.

I run the same OS and I can't think of anything at the moment other than Personalized Menus that would cause that problem. I'll look into it though.

I removed your post in the "Guide: Windows XP/2003 Tweaking." There's no need to post in there AND post a thread about it.

im definitely using the nonclassic menu, and no way can the pb derive from "personalized menus", since ive checked the missing things in widows explorer at C:\Documents and Settings\admin (user guest, my name, default user etc) \start menu\programs... and they are gone from those locations too.

the real programs those missing shortcuts were pointing to are still present in Programs Files, registry etc, and they work perfectly.

beats me.... anyway im thinking of reinstalling the win2k3 serv ent + sp1 integrated, see if it does same thing 3rd time... hope not
