Does a USB driver for the Motorola V180 phone exist? There is a mini USB port on the phone, but I can't find a driver for Win 98. Can anyone help?

USB driver for motorola V180 DOES exist. I got it from the place listed below, it works great with my V180 in windows XP, I am just not sure this one will work in windows 98 or not.

You might try these people (its free to join), at the very least they'll be able to tell you which one your looking for (the code, you never know they might have one there that you can use)
It is here:
http://list.driverguide.com/list/company69...ge14/index.htmlI notice that livedeal.com is only charging 2.99$ for the one you want, maybe send them 3.00 worth of stamps or something? dunno, I would've thought Motorola would have a database of downloadable drivers for people equipment, hm.

(actz, that link leads to a closed page)
I let curiosity get the better of me and spent some time on the Motorola site. Yes, they want to make money so have bundled the USB software in their Tools disc, pretty pricey IMO (25Pounds UK). I also spent a bit of time going through some driver sites but to no avail.
As I said previously it is a shame that you spend good money for a phone with cool features and have to pay for a simple driver. To me its like buying a car thats' options are engine and wheels, and oh, did you want a transmission with that Sir? sheesh.
And as for the 2.99 driver working with 98, they claim it works with 98SE. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

At least your phone can accomodate things like a mini-usb cable. My phone was made at the beginning of time, with a 7 color screen (not all at once mind you), monotonic ring tones, and no way to change any of the options from their preinstall things.

TheBrotherhood313, I tried to download it and when I clicked on Download from Location 1, it took me back to downseek.com. Am I doing something wrong? Or can you send me the file via email?

Hi, y'all...random question, but I broke the connector at the base of my phone into which the AC adapter fits and charges the battery. After debating this for a bit, I figured that maybe, just maybe, a USB cable could both charge my phone AND let me upload some of my more quirky indie songs as ringtones. Can the drivers allow me to charge my phone? And if so, is there some place online where I can d/l them?
Thanks! (This is all part of my stubborn Irish need to screw Cingular for not letting me upgrade my phone....)

Open the folder. If its a Zip file unzip it. I would imagine you'd then plug in the phone (then again maybe just plug in your phone to start with), the PC wont find the driver as it isn't installed and will ask to go look for driver, say yes and follow any prompts or specify the location of it if it cant 'see' it, let OS find it and install it, voila! At least in my simple mind this is how it should go

And welcome to Geek Newz, enjoy your stay and have a look around.
