What are your views on Halloween?

thumbsdownsmiley.gif For me. Too commercialized.

I hate hit.

Actually I've never celebrated any holiday's for about 11 years now. Before then I kindof liked Halloween, being that a kid of 8 and getting lots of free candy, but then at 9 I learned about the nature of Halloween... I think that if people learn about the true background of halloween and where it came from, some people would think twice about celebrating it...

It gave me the chills... ermm.gif

never celebrated it, find it rather pointless and much commercialized like most other holidays.
madmafia
i make up my own holidays
hey, i made my own religion so i can make a freakin holiday
but halloween is dumb and there is not much point to it
GTX5_Crusader
I look at it as holidays are more ways to get stuck with months of bills. I'm in deep enough already tongue.gif

its little kids dressing up, having fun, and getting candy.

DEVILWORSHIPPERS!!!!!!!!!!! heh, what a joke. People blow it way out of proportion, its all for fun now, its has nothing to do with the original incarnation. btw hi biggrin.gif
Julia's_Phate
I've never been allowed to celebrate it (i.e. never dressed up, never gotten to go trick-or-treating, never carved pumpkins), so i guess i'm kinda neutral on the topic.

hehe I used to have fun a long time ago, I think i only did it twice... its just for kids to have a bit of fun and dress up into sillly costumes isnt it? (oh and get candy)

Too commercialized yes of course but what holiday isnt these days.

I didn't look at as really a "holiday". I looked at it more like a day to get candy. It was the CandyDay. Dressing up was just so I wouldn't be embarrassed going to a stranger's door and begging for candy. biggrin.gif

My Dad is a Baptist Pastor and is totally against it. I guess its up to you how you celebrate it - or not celebrate it. I am, however, tired of seeing Orange lights all over people's house who've decorated for Halloween. Lights are for Christmas. Same as hanging eggs from trees is for Easter (never really got that??).

Answering the question at hand: I think its too commercialized.

i really don't feel strong about it either way. i just like to carve pumpkins biggrin.gif

And what's up with people decorating almost 2 months before the actuall holiday? No more than the Halloween lights go down, the Christmas ones go up...
