i wonder about energy is it just a physics concept where it can be neither created or destroyed or does it exist physically. If it's a concept how do you explain nuclear weapons and the amount energy produced when nuclei of atoms are broken down, and if it really does exist physically does that mean since for Kinetic energy the equation is E=1/2(m)(v)^2 that if you rearrange the formula and make v the subject, and pump enough energy into a small mass like a gas particle it could ultimately move at the speed of light?

I thought it was matter that could be neither created nor destroyed?

Engery is a form of output that all materials emit. I don't believe it to be just a concept but an actuall form of matter, being it either atoms or molecules in themselves.

You both give me an interesting question smile.gif Matter can be converted to energy when you burn a log it is converted to heat and light and like 7-8% ash (guestimating based on volume) anyway my question is this thoery states that if you take a car and add huge huge rocket engines that the fastest you can go is 99.9999% the speed of light.... Well this has to do with basic physics every action has an equal and oposit reaction so unless you have something pushing faster then FTL you wont go faster but this is where my question comes in... if you cant destroy energy then where does the energy go that you are trying to get something to go faster then light ? I mean could it all be spread through the universe ?

Isn't matter converted to energy in nuclear reaction? I'm starting to think that a better way of putting this statement would be to say that all the information in the known universe is constant it's just converted to matter or energy once in a while, for example in nuclear reactions small amounts of matter are converted to large amounts of energy. And I heard that a physicist in australia created wave signals of some sort that could travel at four time the speed of light, it doesn't mean we are gonna cross the universe just yet but that the speed of light isn't quite the universal speed limit Einstein said it was google the story once in a while, oh hey i'm new here could someone please tell me how to post the stuff next to my name.
