Well I voted for no just because it seems a bit pointless and I never use it but if it helps people control their urge to go off topic then it may be necessary.

Stay shoutbox, stay! I say we need an unmoderated place where anything goes.... enter the shoutbox

I most definately need something to vent my randomness into. As a mod, its exceptionally hard to stay on topic, be uptight and enforce the rules if i have no place to release it into. Yes, chit chat section is there, but we dun want it to turn into a dump of topics with titles such as "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" or "I broke my Brian while pealing an apple"

The shoutbox should definitly NOT be a place that is not moderated. Members and guests should be able to visit all parts of the website without having to worry about veiwing anything that may be offensive The shoutbox should maintain all rules regarding the forums (save the for rule about "Off Topic Posting")

I voted "Yes", but under the condition that the shoutbox maintains the forum's rules.

If there was a "Maybe", I'd chose that, because I don't like having to moderate another area like the shoutbox, mainly because of all the randomness and how everything can get (and has gotten) out of control.

I purposely didn't put in a maybe, because i thought it would be much better with straight answers.

I have no problem with moderating the shoutbox myself since I am one of its heavy users. I have done so in the past and reminded members to not be offensive. But anyway this sounds like we're beating a dead horse, if its going to come back, yay, if not, oh well.

Well the shoutbox will return eventualy but before it does I want to make sure that IPB v2 is working bug free and that all the theme bugs have been fixed. It should all be fixed by end of the months or sooner.
