SAN FRANCISCO, California (Reuters) -- An emerging wireless communications technology called WiMAX, which can blanket entire cities with high-speed Internet connections, will rival DSL and cable as the preferred way to connect homes and businesses to the Internet, says Intel Corp.

Yeah, I was also thinking security issues... It would be a really awsome technology to implement... but until they can fix all the security holes of wireless technology, I don't think it'll "get up and go"...

I also have to question the speed thing unless you have a realy realy wide spectrum of radio bandwidth how can each computer have a very high speed connect Cable is shared as well but only on a node do you have to share and a node is typicaly a few blocks or a subdivision... now with this WiMax thing its going to be a whole city shareing a connect. Now if they have like 12 or so channels that might ease up the bottleneck a bit but how much ?
