Looks like money is getting tight for M$. think this is the first story I've heard from them where they are'nt getting sued or bragging about how much money they are spending on making products:

M$ Agent #2
I wouldnt worry about it acording to this article they have like 56 Billion in the bank so even if Microsoft made 0 dollars a year for the next 56 years they would still be in buisness.... lol thats if they made 0 dollars but that would be like the mafia not getting extortion money....
tlviking
yea 4 some reason i am not worryed about MS
they r geting mony even 4 not doing nothing
cause they r all over us
nothing u can do about it will change it
they control the economy of US and US control the economy
of the world
well do the math
anakinsolois
i dont think they 'control' the US's economy, theyre not that big. And the US most certainly does NOT control the world economy. I mean, recently, when the US economy was down during after the war, European and Indian econmomies were high. India reached the highest level of prosperity seen in 5 yrs. Many other countries did well too.

The only way the US could seriously affect world economy would be if they banned all imports/exports.
Rezza
Most other countries depend on the US for their exports, but the US needs nothing from nobody in order to function.

And M$ is a tiny fragment of the US economy, if M$ is controlling the US I'm controlling the orbit of venus. get real.

Then how do you explain those made in China labels? biggrin.gif

I really don't think they are controlling the US persay. They do hold a lot of influence, of course what large multi billion dollar company doesn't? I wouldn't worry about them going belly up because they will always find ways of making money. They might even bring DOS 6.22 back out and say its windows 2005 just without the GUI. They pay people insane salaries just to make sure they get more money. They are always going to be there.

that means they always have the best of the best on board.

Open sorce will eventuialy put a much better kink in the corporate gient. Granted they will copy it all but Microsoft always charges to much. I see the playing field much lever 10 years from now.

What i mean by that is that microsoft has so much money that they can afford to hire people to think up new ways to make money.
The only way microsoft will go downhill is if all of their programs simultaneously (sp) became open source. Then they would be pretty much up the creek without a paddle.
GTX5_Crusader
If their software went open sourced the entire software market made by Microsoft (which is the majority) would probably collapse with the onslaught of 4th-party software... sad.gif
Nisiar
Don't you mean 3rd party?
GTX5_Crusader
3rd-Party software would be that of people who work almost under the competitors, such as people that create different OSs of Linux. 4th-Party would be people like... me... who work with the 3rd-party software.
Nisiar
But if people were editing the microsoft code slitly, I don't see who thats diffrent from the main stream versions of Linux.
