Actz started GN way back during the dark ages (b4 i joined that is 
) and then it was taken down by a hacker, due to some ip board flaw, as actz was bzy moving. Then, it restarted on 3rd Nov 2003. Actz pretty much pays for the whole of GN.

Does actz get any income from the website to help pay for it, or are the payments straight out of his own pocket? Surely there must be some monetary gain to be gotten out of GN.com with its popularity.

If I remember correctly this is like his hobby. I don't think he makes any money from this site.
Yeah you're right, this is kinda actz's hobby. He doesnt get any money out of it.
Well seems like your questions have been answered correctly... I'm the sole owner of GeekNewz and it is funded directly from my pocket. It has become a hobby of mine and others that help out. Many plans are still in the works to help GN grow and I do plan on developing the site further but GN has never been about turning a profit.
Non profit !!! even though I think a banner ad would be cool (I know they do not pay much though) lol banner ads for computer stuff I click those alot especialy if its something new like a water cooler or OC ram lol
