Yeah I like the machines outside of grocery stores where you bring you own bottle and buy it for like 50 cents or what ever... those are connected to a hose outlet on the side of the store... Heheheh they do have a nice filter in them but its not that good. Best water for you to drink is distilled then of course you need to take a good multi vitamin with it becouse I guess you dont get the minerals that are in the water (of course I beleive you get most minerals and stuff from the foods we eat but thats different)

i like the flavored water!! and aquafina. but i kick my arse if i pay for water when we have water for free. but then i think the bottle is awesome and easy to carry around.

I always knew that bottled water and filtered tap water seemed to taste the same. BTW: Why do people buy water for $1 (around here) when they can get it for free?

Wow that really makes you wonder about the other products out there. And i agree with crusader, Why buy water when the tap water comes out for free (Depending on your bill situation)

Well I can say for here in Florida you have to pay for water (our bill becouse of watering the lawn and what not is like 100$ a month) but I still buy water from the store (in those 2.5 Galon things) becouse the water that comes out of the tap taste like crap... Unless you have a super reverse osmosis filter for your drinking water the tap water just plain sucks. Now when I lived in michigan that was different it tasted a little irony but good otherwise lol

Well, I can understand if you buy your water because you have high water bills, but most areas I've seen have low bills (unless in the city, but even so I live in Pittsburgh and get only $15 a month flat rate). Sure, city water can sometimes taste weird, but I'd rather save my money than buy bottled water. Besides, you're really not paying much for the water... it's the bottle that's expensive.

If you think Coca-Cola is lying... You're being lied to everyday by the government, I don't see why this matters... maybe we should do something about the corrupt governments of the world, first, people keep focusing on non-important things..

I didn't read the article but I know where I live now (a much older house) there are lead pipes = not good. Luckily I never drink water so I don't have to worry about buying it or dying. Before you drink tap water you may want to see if you have lead pipes or not. It's probably nothing to worry about... I don't know how much the pipes affect the water content.
GTX5_Crusader
May 22 2004, 05:50 AM
You'd be surprised how much pipes can affect water. Lead pipes can be even worse as the lead can "bleed" into the water. The same is true with copper or plastic piping... well, almost any pipe.

I just drank some Propel "Fitness" Water and it was pretty good (grape flavor). My dad bought it while I was at CompUSA and its price was ~$4 for ~8 bottles... he thought he'd lost his head considering it's just water.

<rant>eww.. I hate flavoured water. It's like when you finish some juice and try to rinse it out for the recyclers.. try taking a sip and see how much it tastes like flavoured bottle water. As far as I'm concerned, Water is the best drink on the planet, it has no taste so you can never get tired of it.. but adding flavour to water is like making a car with no wheels and calling it XtremeX or something.</rant>

Water actually has a taste to me... a water taste.

Maybe it's the lack of taste that I don't like about it but it's something (if I drink enough of it will start to make me sick).
I agree with what you're saying about flavored water though... it is ridiculous and I don't even like the flavored water all that much.

I can actually "taste" water, if you know what I mean. Tap water from a well has a different taste depending on where you go, even if the filtration is the same.
I think the best water around though is good 'ol stream water. Run it though a fine filter to get all the dirt and bugs and whatever else out, boil it, and you got the best water around after it's chilled

(And I don't care what came from upstream. Where I was from, the only place to get the water was right where it was coming out of the ground... so nothing really got into it)

I'm just saying I like flavored water a little bit better than plain water.

Flavoured water is water without it's purpose. I drink water cause it's got no taste (good tap water, not chemical stuff) I don't want flavours mixed into it... if I did, I'd drink juice or pepsi or something,

Well I'd rather not take a chance in there being dirt, ecoli (at the worst), lead, copper, etc in the water I drink ... but, then again, I drink water .0001% of the time.

If you drink the water from the tap where I live it has all kinds of nice things in it. hmm we are only slightly over the EPA limit on arsnic and just under the limit for radioactive stuff too...... yummy...... I think I will stick with my distilled water. (filtered water is better then tap but I dont trust there filtering methods or that they "say" they filter it that way.) At least when I buy distilled water I know its 100% water and nothing else

Well, clean green anti-nuclear NZ has nice, crystal clear water that hasn't come out of somebody else's body, but that's really irrelevant. I'm questioning the purpose of flavoured water, not water (be it distilled or tap)
