I'm considering purchasing a notebook. I'm looking for something thin and light that can connect, wirelessly, to my network(Linksys). I'm also considering a notebook that has an Intel Centrino processor, but since this is fairly new technology, I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Any suggestions? thumbsupsmiley.gif geek.gif

I have an HP Pavilion zt3000 series, and love it. You can fully customize one on the hp site. I have a 1.4Ghz Pentium M, 768mb ram, 40gb hdd, cdrw/dvd, 15.4'' WSXGA screen, and ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 graphics w/64mb vram. The unit is light, relatively thin, a great performer, comfortable, and good looking.

HP's scroll mouse touchpad is excellent, and features the deactivation button to keep you from accidentally tapping the touchpad. Highly recommended. Battery life is about 3.5hrs or so. There are thinner, lighter, and longer lasting notebooks, but the zt3000 is cheap, powerful, and all-around nice.

PS: The Compaq Presario X1000 is the same thing, although will be higher priced than the HP, or it was when I bought a few months ago.
