RAR file, anakin.
I'm looking through WinRAR / help and am not seeing a way to disable CRC check.

Repair archive. Archive repairing is performed in two stages. First, the damaged archive is searched for a recovery record (see 'rr' command). If the archive contains a recovery record and if the portion of the damaged data is continuous and less than N*512 bytes, where N is number of recovery sectors placed into the archive, the chance of successful archive reconstruction is very high. When this stage has completed, a new archive will be created, called fixed.arcname.rar, where 'arcname' is the original (damaged) archive name.
If a broken archive does not contain a recovery record or if the archive is not completely recovered due to major damage, a second stage is performed. During this stage only the archive structure is reconstructed and it is impossible to recover files which fail the CRC validation, it is still possible to recover undamaged files which were inaccessible due to the broken archive structure. Mostly this is useful for non-solid archives.
When the second stage is completed, the reconstructed archive will be saved as rebuilt.arcname.rar, where 'arcname' is the original archive name.
RAR/DOS32 version uses _recover.rar and _reconst.rar instead of names mentioned aboves.
While the recovery is in progress, RAR may prompt the user for assistance when a suspicious file is detected.
Suspicious entry
Name: <possibly filename> Size: <size> Packed: <compressed size>
Add it: Yes/No/All
Answer 'y' to add this entry to the file fixed.arcname.rar.
Example:
rar r buggy.rar |
Taken from the RAR manual, Im not too sure if this is what u meant but...

I found this as well but Suran doesn't want to repair the file he just wants to disable CRC.
Although this

seems it would be the equivalent of disabling CRC.

If its an archive you need the whole thing especialy if its a program... if its just a video file or MP3 maaayyybbbeeee you could get some of it (although I doubt it) realy once an archive is corrupted its junk you will need to redownload or reaquire it somewhere....

If you have a rar and the crc failed then the file is corrupt or incomplete. Their is only 2 things todo.. Resume download or redownload. If you see a SFV file it is ALWAYS wise to use a SFV Checker. Their are many good and free SFV Checkers availble.

Here's an SFV checker conveniently named SFV Checker.
SFV Checker uses CRC-32 technology to check each file| QUOTE |
| SFV Checker uses CRC-32 technology to check each file and notifies you of any potentially bad, corrupt, incorrect size or missing files to save you hours of downloading only to find you have 1 file missing or the last file has a CRC checksum error. The CRC value comparison is done by using a standard SFV file. If an SFV file is not available, you can drag and drop the file into the list view to produce the calculated CRC value. An informative report log is generated after file scanning that provides a list of missing and inconsistent files, as well as, a summary for the archive. SFV Checker can also concatenate files in the list and rename multi archives on the fly, e.g. Correct file naming for .001, .002, .003 files into .rar, .r00, r01 files. SFV Checker supports RAR, ARJ, ACE and ALL other Binary/Text file types. |
Good suggestion Mustang, I know very little about this.

Hello Everyone. I had the same problem with CRC errors in Rar files. I went to google and found a solution after several frustrating hours. I tried repairing with Winrar and other commercial software. Nada. My solution was to ignore the errors. What you do is go to Winrar in the Start Menu. In winrar you click File > open and then select the files you want to unrar. Then you click the "extract to" icon and check the box that says "Keep Broken Files" under miscellaneous. Any CRC error windows that show up during the extraction you ignore/close. The resulting file worked just fine.
