So i decided to relive my olden linux days and download the new version of mandrake. After 2 days of exhaustive wait (yeah my conx is THAT slow) it was all done and so i burned it with nero onto 3 fine lookin cds. So i said to myself "wonderful, its all done, now defrag, set up space on drive and install it" . But as the saying goes, its not done till the fat one eyed beer chugging old lady croaks. THe cd wouldnt boot. I checked my BIOS setup and yes, my cdrom is chosen as boot device, and booting from devices is enabled. Furthermore, the cd does autorun once inside windows although it seems to have no effect on the booting of my pc.
Any ideas what might be going wrong? Meanwhile im downloading another 3 isos from the main site (i used Bit Torrent to get the copy that doesnt boot)

Yes bootable CD's cannot be made from files.... only ISO images of one sort or another....

hehe lol, so what did you extract the files and delete the images and re-download? Excellent work

, I think I would've gone nuts if that had happened to me with my connection.

yeah i had downloaded the wrong files, the files i downloaded now were in .iso format so that made it a whole lot easier, and booting worked
